My Nana in Numbers...
205 is the size of her shoe collection
She had that many pairs to her name
But if you loved shopping like she did
I’m sure you would tot up the same
306 biscuits in her magic cupboard
I didn’t count those, I just guessed
But when I was small, I’d be in there all day
If I wasn’t, Uncle Mark would eat the rest
72 was the age that she learned to text
A pretty cool Nana I’d say
She mastered phone lingo far better than me
I wish there was signal where she’s gone to stay
79 was the age she was with us ‘til
A grand total, make no mistake
But you’d never really lived properly
Until you’d tasted some of her cake
3 is the number of little Smoothys she had
And along came me and then Freddie
But she was the biggest kid of them all
I’ve seen her opening presents before they were ready
Number one is the sort of Nana she was
But she wasn’t just mine, she was ours
And I bet some nights, if you look carefully
You’ll see her browsing the shops in the stars
0 is the number of people who could replace her
And our memories won’t ever fade
But perhaps now’s the time for my Grandad
To turn down his hearing aid?
